BMW have unveiled higher second-quarter profits than expected despite the investment into the release of the mini and the new BMW 7 series.

Profits before tax were up 62% on the same period last year and sales figures indicated just over 238,000 cars were sold; BMW say that figure could reach nearly 900,000 cars by the end of 2001.

I suppose not really a lot can be said about that apart from the UK customers who still have to pay vastly more for a brand new car in the UK than they would have to abroad.

Have a look at the following URL: http://www.carimporting.co.uk/saveometer.htm to get a rough idea of the savings that can be made (a quick guesstimation by me is between £4000 and £6000 on a new Beamer imported from Belgium as opposed to bought on the High Street!).

Once you've had a look, come back and tell us what you think about it!
