BA reveals it's worst results since its privatisation in 1987. New
Chief Exec, Rod Ellington announced pre-tax losses of £286Million.
They are now likely to reverse their strategy to ditch market share
in order to focus on first and business class passengers.
The published statics available from British Airways are for 1999/2000
In 1999-2000, British Airways announced pre-tax profits down 97.8 per
cent on the previous year to £5 million. This was against an increase in revenues of
3.2 per cent to £8,940 million. The British Airways Group,
including Deutsche BA, and Air Liberté, carried a record 46.578 million
